Happy Christmas Eve! We have jet streak fueled light snow predicted for Saturday night. These are notoriously unpredictable, so take the below model predictions for our patrol zone with a hefty grain of salt.
UK Met Model: 2”
Canadian Model: 1.5”
European Model: 1”
American Model: .5”
Then, on Tuesday December 29 a strong low pressure system approaches from the west. However, at this time (as is typical for this time of the year), it appears that the system will probably move too fast to produce much snow in our patrol zone. Fingers crossed I’m wrong on this, and it has a better track and slower speed. Here are the model predictions:
UK Met Model: 4”
Canadian and European Models: 3”
American Model: 1.5”
Retrospective Discussion:
Eldora reported 4” from the last system, happily at the high end of the model predictions, with the WRF Model doing the best job and the American Model doing the worst job of predicting the snowfall.
