Well, if there’s any good news (for our snowpack later in the year), it won’t be quite as warm as it’s been.  A low pressure system currently over western Idaho makes its way through Wyoming on Wednesday, which may bring a touch of snow (but not a lot) to our patrol zone.  Here are the various model snow forecasts for Tuesday:

European Model: 2”

Canadian Model: 1.5”

American, NAM, RDPS, and UK Met Models: 1”

WRF Model: dusting

Unfortunately, a large ridge of high pressure follows the Tuesday system.  There will likely be a shortwave to our north on Thursday afternoon to Friday morning, but again, nothing significant for our patrol zone.  Here are the various model snow forecasts for our patrol zone Thursday afternoon to Friday morning:

Canadian Model: 1.5”

American, UK Met, and European Models: dusting

Then, more sun and warmth on Friday afternoon through Sunday morning-ish.  Then, a large low pressure system runs through the Dakotas on Sunday which may fuel a little, but not a ton of snow, on Sunday.  Even looking at the ensembles, the chances of it being far enough south to produce a lot of snow in our zone are low.  Here are the various model snow forecasts for our patrol zone on Sunday:

Canadian Model: 4”

American and European Models: dusting

The picture is unclear gazing out into forecast fairyland, with possibly more snow next Tuesday (4/13) and Wednesday (4/14).  Fingers’ crossed.
